Screw conveyors transport bulk materials continuously using a rotating helical screw blade (flights) inside a U-shaped trough or round tube. Material moves forward by shear and tumbling action, making the system ideal for powders, fines, crushed solids, coal, cement, chemicals, and other bulk materials. UNICON has a proven record of installing screw conveyors for diverse industries, delivering efficient, reliable, and customized solutions. Conveyors are available with variable pitch, cut flight, ribbon flight, or cut-and-folded flights to suit different materials and flow characteristics. For abrasive service, hard facing can be provided on the leading edge of flights. Long conveyors use intermediate hanger bearings to control sag, and angular speed is selected carefully to prevent wobbling. For high-temperature duties, jacketed troughs and box flights with circulating cooling water can be supplied. UNICON standard designs are manufactured in carbon steel or stainless steel depending on operating conditions.
