The VibraTip is a portable, easy-to-use device designed to assess vibration perception in patients with diabetes, particularly for detecting diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). Resembling a small key fob, it delivers a near-silent vibration at a frequency similar to a tuning fork. The device is applied to the foot to check if the patient can detect the vibration. If the vibration is not felt, it may indicate DPN, prompting further examination. VibraTip provides consistent results with minimal user variability and requires little training.
