The Apex-HD Industrial Guide Insert is a high-performance bearing sleeve designed to support and align reciprocating rods or pistons within a cylinder housing. Manufactured from Self-Lubricating Bronze, PTFE-filled Polymers, or Hardened Steel, these inserts act as a sacrificial wear surface. By absorbing side-loads and reducing friction, they protect the more expensive cylinder walls and piston rods from scoring. These inserts are typically press-fitted into the cylinder head or gland and often feature integrated grooves for secondary seals or wipers, ensuring that contaminants do not enter the internal chamber during the retraction stroke.
