COMPOSITION  

Each ml contains:

Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate

As Dexamethasone Phosphate 4 mg

Methyl Paraben 0.5%w/v

Propyl paraben 0.02%w/v

Water for Injection q.s

Pack size 2ml vial

Indications:  Allergic reactions ,Pre & post-operatively, Acute state of infections , Poisoning, Adrenocortical insufficiency , Shock Acute dermatological disorders ,Rheumatic disorders Ophthalmologic disorders

DOSAGE: 4-20 mg/day IV Infusion or im 0.5-5 mg/day orally

CONTRA-INDICATIONS: Renal failure, Diabetes mellitus, Psychosis, Osteoporosis. Pregnancy. CHF, tuberculosis & other systemic infections   

PRECAUTIONS: May reduce the response of the pituitary-adrenal axis to stress. Glaucoma, epilepsy, Hypertrnsion. Liver dysfunction elderly.

SIDE-EFFECTS: Cushing’s habitus (rounded face , narrow mouth). Fragile skin, easy bruising, telengiectasis, hirsutism. Cutaneous atrophy occurs with topical use. Hyperglycaemia, glycosuria, muscular weakness. Deayed healing of wounds & surgical incisions.
