Detrashers are industrial machines designed to remove coarse contaminants from fibers in high-density batch pulpers. They effectively separate materials such as printing inks, adhesives, staples, pins, clips, wood pieces, plastics, and plastic films without cutting them into smaller particles, preventing further contamination of the downstream stock. The machine features specially designed rotors and plates to optimize contaminant removal. Washed rejects are sent to a trommel, where they are separated from water, which is then recovered and recirculated back to the pulper. Detrashers improve pulp quality, reduce maintenance issues, and enhance overall efficiency in recycling and pulp processing plants.
