The AC Filesafe Electromagnet Disc Brake is a compact, efficient, and modern braking system designed for electric motors. It eliminates the need for separate foundations as it mounts directly on the non-driving end of the motor shaft. The system features a liner plate (brake disc) and square hub, which is keyed to the shaft for secure operation. In normal conditions, the liner plate is held between two discs by spring pressure, engaging the brake. When current is applied, the electromagnet releases the liner plate, disengaging the brake. This mechanism ensures smooth, reliable performance with minimal maintenance. Once installed, it requires only periodic air gap adjustments. Manual release options are also available upon request.
