Having pronounced activity at elevated temperatures, these dryer are used in baking finishes. Owing to its color, this iron dryer is widely used for darker colored finishes. It is used in backing finishes since it promotes effective & prompt drying by polymerisation. Having pronounced activity at elevated temperatures, it is an excellent wetting agent for carbon black & iron oxide. It prevents adsorption of dryers on the surface of the pigment & increases gloss. In air dry finishes it is useful in eliminating film tackiness of paints containing a high percentage of non drying oil component such as fish oil.
