Madhya Kalikata Shilpangan

MKS (Madhya Kalikata Shilpangan), based in the city of Kolkata, India, has begun its journey way back in 1994 with the objectives of providing support to artisans and craftsmen in the unorganized sector of our society, who are talented in their traditional crafts but could not get better price for their products due to lack of access to proper marketing. Along with, it also has taken up the task of providing training to existing artisans and newcomers, who want to further improve their income through skill upgrade.

Since its inception, MKS has been actively engaged in promoting marketing of its target group's products on Fair Trade principles, developing communities for artisans, providing informal education and vocational training to them.
