Other Details

Our monopotassium potassium phosphate (kh2po4) is a soluble salt that is utilized as a food additive, a fungicide, and a buffering agent. It is also used in fertilizer mixtures with ammonium phosphate and urea to keep the ph at a relatively low level. This ensures minimum escape of ammonia. Also known as potassium dihydrogen phosphate, monobasic potassium, kdp, and mkp, it is a rich source of potassium and phosphorous. At 400°c, it decomposes to potassium metaphosphate (kpo3) due to the loss of water.MKP (fertilizer grade) contains the equivalent of 52% p2o5 and 34% k2o, and is labeled 0-52-34. Mkp is often used in greenhouse grade and hydroponics as a nutrient source.
