Progesterone is the major steroid secreted by the corpus luteum in early pregnancy and latter on by placenta to retain pregnancy. The condition in which corpus luteum does not produce required amount of progesterone and other hormones, resulting into miscarriage, is known as Luteal Phase Defect. Natural micronised progesterone fulfills the deficiency of progesterone thus preventing threatened & habitual abortion due to luteal phase defect or in other words Natural micronised progesterone is useful to retain early pregnancy of first 7 to 9 weeks of pregnancy. Unlike most synthetic progesterone, Natural progesterone has virtually no Androgenic or Estrogenic properties.
