Cirrus CLS10 RF Admittance Level Switch is one of the versatile used level switch for solid and liquid point level measurement control application. Its advance design and sensing electronic unit makes it suitable for sticky media, large hoppers and storage bins. Its fail safe design and unique feature of shield coat guard technique, makes it immune to material build up & sticking on the probe or between the probe and storage tank walls. The switch is easily thread mounted on the tank and is highly reliable in operation, irrespective of the viscosity of media or its sticky tendency. Its best suitable for dusty environment, especially solid powders. The Switch operates on the basis of RF absorption measurement. The electronic part of sensor propagates sinusoidal wave which is applied to the probe electrode, creating a field around it. The change in RF absorption value (electrical loss) around the electrode, is reflected during the changes of generator supply current. Such changes, caused by the increase in level is duly amplified and used to operate a relay output. The RF level switch overcomes the drawback of other conventional level sensors, and is immune to the material coating left on the probe during rise and fall of material level inside tank or hopper, thus is not effected by any coating of material still left on the probe and only sensing actual level of material inside tank, which makes it suitable for sticky or dusty environment. The switch has a efficient coat protection amplifier incorporated in the electronic circuit which has its output exactly at the same voltage and phase all times as its input. The output is connected by shield of low capacitance co-axial cable, to the concentric tube on sensor probe called shield element. Since both the elements, sensor and shield, are exactly at the same potential and phase at all times, three is no current flow through the cable. Thus there is no change in calibration due to coating of material left on the probe or temperature effect of the cable. The measured signal do not flow backward but flows only through the probe towards material inside tank. Thus the coat guard and signal flow technique makes it immune to material build up & enables it to have fail proof operation in such conditions. Switch can be selectable configured for high or low level point switching. A relay output is obtained when the media comes in contact with the probe. The status of relay changes when media leaves the probe. Models with higher temperature are made in two part with remote switching assembly.
