The Volute Tongue (cut-water) is where the spiral starts. If the pattern is not precise here, it causes fluid turbulence and noise in the final pump. We use CNC-machined inserts at the tongue area to ensure the sharpest and most efficient flow transition.
How do you ensure the internal hollow area is perfectly cast?
We use a Multi-Piece Core Box. The core is made of hardened sand and placed inside the mold using "Core Prints" defined by the pattern. This creates the hollow spiral space where the water flows, ensuring perfectly smooth internal walls.
Will the pattern warp over time due to foundry moisture?
Not at all. We use Laminated Hardwood or Epoxy Resin, which are moisture-resistant. We also apply multiple layers of Polyurethane (PU) Lacquer, which seals the material and protects it from the damp environment of a sand foundry.
