Applications

High energy density, availability in the vicinity of load centers, and predictability are among prominent features of wave energy compared to other forms of renewable energy. These features have attracted a new surge of attention in the United States on trying to economically harness ocean wave energy. In this project, potential role of wave energy in providing a portion of United States future energy demands, and current research, commercial and governmental activities will be investigated.

This is an ongoing review research. The undergrad will investigate the state of the art research and technology development. It may need getting in touch with companies and researchers. This will provide a unique opportunity for participant undergrads to get to know about the state of the art effort in the area of ocean renewable energy.
