A tarpaulin is a large sheet, which is strong, flexible and water resistant. Tarpaulins like canvas or polyester being a waterproof material are often coated with plastics such as latex or PVC. Inexpensive modern tarpaulin is made from woven polyethylene; the material is often used for making tarpaulin that it has come to known as poly tarpaulin. Tarpaulins have reinforced grommets at the corners and along the sides that makes attachment points for rope, allowing them to be tied down or suspended. It can also be used as an outdoor market stalls to provide some protection from the elements of nature.
