The indicator consists of a frame that rotates between the poles of an electromagnet. The indicator pointer, black in color, is attached to the frame and rotates on a white background. When the breaker or isolator is in the closed position, the pointer fills the space between the lines and ensures continuity in the block diagram. When the circuit breaker or isolator is in the open position, it occupies a position perpendicular to the mimic. If the supply of the indicator fails, then it occupies an intermediate position, that is to say at 45 °. The indicator is housed in a molded cylindrical housing and is designed primarily for flush mounting on control panels. A mounting clip is provided on the housing for attachment to the panel. The smaphore indicator is available in two versions namely. JAV 041 is used for circuit breakers and a beezel diameter of 63mm, the JAV 042 type is used for insulators and earthing and has a beezel diameter of 48mm. However, the cut-out dimension of the panel is 41mm dia, which is the same for both types. The indicator coil is basically designed for 24 / 30V DC rating. For a DC application of 48V, 110V & 220V, a series screw resistor is supplied and can be directly screwed to a terminal of the semaphore.
